Advocate

Advocacy work at Americans for the Arts impacts every level of the field, and all of our membership. We galvanize leaders at the national, state, and local levels, working together to craft policy that supports the arts and arts education across the country. One successful recent coalition effort ensured that the arts were included in the definition of a “well-rounded education” in the 2015 Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which has helped advocates at the state and local levels push for arts education policies that fit their local arts education needs.

Research

We strive to provide our membership with the tools they need to succeed, and our work in arts research is a significant piece of that. In our Creative Industries and Arts and Economic Prosperity reports, we showcase the impact of the arts on communities nationwide through real-life data. Providing the most compelling, up-to-date information is essential, and we can only accomplish this with your support.

Connect

Americans for the Arts aims to be the tissue that allows people across the country to connect with their peers. Projects, such as the Public Art Resource Center, connect professionals with training, networking opportunities, and resources specific to their work.  Our networks, like the State Arts Action Network connect leaders to each other to share ideas and find common initiatives to champion together. These are just a few examples of the many gatherings we facilitate year round, all made possible through your support.

Lead

Americans for the Arts has over a decade of experience cultivating current and future leaders in the field. We are working to foster diversity and equity in arts leadership in to ensure a diversity of voices and perspectives are present at the table, representing all of America. Through initiatives like the Emerging Leaders Network and training events held year-round, we give young arts professionals the opportunities the skills they need to be the leaders of tomorrow. By bringing together the leaders of today, we encourage the field to tackle new challenges faced by the arts. We will overcome new obstacles as a coalition of arts leaders when we have your support.
