Americans for the Arts is pleased to announce that Mark Golden, CEO of Golden Artist Colors, has joined the Business Committee for the Arts Executive Board.
Golden Artist Colors was honored at the 2012 BCA 10: Best Businesses Partnering with the Arts gala for their exceptional involvement in the arts to enrich the workplace, education, and the community. The company engages employees in the arts through employee arts shows, painting days, and more, and remains an active partner with arts organizations including the Alliance of Young Artists and Writers. Golden has been a participant and speaker at the Americans for the Arts annual convention and the New Community Visions Initiative forum in Philadelphia. He has also promoted membership in the Arts Action Fund to artists and other Golden Artist Colors constituents in addition to being a longstanding supporter himself.
“Mr. Golden brings a long history of dedication, leadership, and support of the arts to the BCA Executive Board, and his perspective will be a vital addition to our efforts to further key business initiatives,” said Robert L. Lynch, president and CEO of Americans for the Arts.
Golden has 30 years of industry experience and was chosen as a recipient of the Small Business Person of the Year for New York State award. In addition, he was recognized by President Bill Clinton for his activities in creating a business that exemplifies the spirit of corporate citizenship in providing a work environment that values all employees.
Golden has been a guest lecturer at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, the Tate Gallery in London, and the College Arts Association convention. He has served as guest lecturer in colleges throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan, and has co-authored several technical papers on issues dealing with conservation of modern materials and acrylic paintings.
On behalf of Americans for the Arts, the BCA Executive Board extends a hearty welcome to Mr. Golden and looks forward to many forthcoming years of collaboration and leadership.
