Through its Open Spaces program, the Kenneth Rainin Foundation recently released a funding opporunity for temporary public art projects in Oakland and San Francisco. As a means to support projects that "engage communities, showcase artistic experimentation, and energize public spaces" the Rainin Foundation is accepting applications from artists and nonprofit organzations.

"Speed Killed My Cousin" is a brutally honest work on PTSD and the difficulties military personnel feel when returning to civilian life.  An intense one act play, “Speed Killed My Cousin” is the story of a young, African American woman veteran of the Iraq War and her struggle with moral injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). A third generation soldier, the central character courts death by vehicular suicide.

On Thursday, March 17, the Delaware Board of Education voted to adopt new arts standards for Dance, Media Arts, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts.  These statements of learning, developed by teachers for teachers, will replace standards that have been used to guide instruction in arts classrooms for the last 20 years.

The Arts & Business Council of Miami recently partnered with the Miami International University of Art & Design on an innovative digital media project as a way to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The partnership included a project with the senior animation class to animate 30 years of successful arts and business partnerships.
