Des Moines Social Club (DMSC) to serve as an artistic hub for the community, developing and hosting artistic events while also undertaking a community-building mission. DMSC produces between 700 and 800 events per year and reaches an annual audience of more than 240,000 people.

pARTnership Movement campaign, came to life after community leaders at the Phoenix Community Alliance, a 30-year-old business advocacy organization focused on the urban vitality of downtown, saw an existing interest and commitment to arts and business partnerships in Phoenix, AZ. With the decision to take it a step further,
ArtWORKS PHX was developed.

Change the World, through the Arts, in St. Louis
Through their pilot
stARTup Competition, PNC Foundation and Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis are challenging individuals and organizations identify robust, innovative, fresh approaches to addressing challenges or needs in the St. Louis region through the arts. The stARTup Competition’s mission is to foster great ideas for emerging arts programs that address or meet a community challenge or need. Cumulatively, PNC and A&E have earmarked $20,000 for the pilot program, as well as incubation services.
CBCA Welcomes New Executive Director
Colorado Business Committee for the Arts recently announced the appointment of a
new executive director, Christin Crampton Day, who will take the place of Deborah Jordy, current Americans for the Arts board member and former member of the Private Sector Council of Americans for the Arts. Crampton Day is a life-long advocate for the arts and brings a strong background in communications, fundraising, management, and strategic planning, having been co-owner at Schenkein and, most recently, Senior Director of Public Relations at Barnhart.

70% of U.S. Workers Not Engaged at Work
Gallup released the latest
State of the American Workplace report in February 2017. Gallup developed the report using data collected from more than 195,600 U.S. employees via the Gallup Panel and Gallup Daily tracking in 2015 and 2016, and more than 31 million respondents through Gallup’s Database. First launched in 2010, this is the third iteration of the report.
2017 Giving in Numbers Survey Launches
CECP, in association with The Conference Board, announced the launch of the 16th annual Giving in Numbers survey. The largest and most robust of its kind, the survey is open now through March 31, 2017 to companies with revenue of US $2 billion or more, including companies not yet affiliated with CECP or The Conference Board. The survey data used by CSR professionals to make data-driven decisions in shaping societal engagement programs.

President and CEO Robert L. Lynch awarded JFK Commonwealth Award
In February, Robert L. Lynch was awarded the first
JFK Commonwealth Award at the 2017 Commonwealth Awards by the
Massachusetts Cultural Council and the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation. The Award is part of a year-long commemoration of President Kennedy’s contribution to the arts and humanities and his vision for the cultural life of our nation.
