Devon Virginia Smith
Devon co-founded Measure, a 2-person studio based in Portland Oregon that helps progressive causes understand, engage, and influence their audiences. Since 2015 her clients have included Oakland Museum of California, Cornerstone Theatre Company, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Riverside Art Museum, Alliance for California Traditional Arts, Portland’5 Centers for the Arts, Western Arts Alliance, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, James Irvine Foundation, International Committee of the Red Cross, Raise Your Hand Texas, Northwest Earth Institute and Earthjustice. Prior to founding Measure, Devon was director of social media and analytics at a DC-based agency for four years where she helped clients use data to more effectively make decisions, plan and manage digital campaigns, and roll out new digital strategies across their organizations. Earlier in her career, Devon worked for the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Roundabout Theatre Company, World Science Festival, and Yale Repertory Theatre. She has been a featured speaker at more than 40 conferences in 6 countries and holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Washington, as well as an MBA from Yale School of Management and an MFA from Yale School of Drama.
