The Center examined data from the 2003 Indiana Household Survey and ACORN, a lifestyle segmentation analysis system that predicts consumer lifestyle and behavior. To compare survey findings with national trends, data was used from the National Endowment for the Arts 2002 Survey of Public Participation in the Arts. The author also analyzed the survey responses in the framework of socioeconomic groups. Results show that two-thirds of all Indiana residents attend arts and cultural events, however, participation is related to income, education, and proximity to an urban area.
