Americans for the Arts today announced this year’s BCA 10: Best Businesses Partnering with the Arts in America honorees. Presented every year by Americans for the Arts’ Business Committee for the Arts (BCA), 10 U.S. companies, one partnership, and one individual will be honored for their exceptional commitment to the arts. The awards will be presented at a black-tie gala at the Central Park Boathouse on October 11, 2017.

Jane Chu to Deliver Keynote at CBCA’s Business for the Arts Awards

Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) recently announced that Jane Chu, chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), will deliver the keynote event at the organization’s annual Business for the Arts Awards luncheon. The event, which will be held on March 9 at the Denver Performing Arts Center, will feature musical, dance, and theatrical performances in addition to the announcements of the awardees.

New Art Educator Residency Created by Former BCA 10 Honorees

Each year, Americans for the Arts honors the best businesses partnering with the arts in America through the BCA10 awards. This summer, two of our previous honorees, Golden Artist Colors, Inc. (BCA 10 2012) and Scholastic Inc. (BCA 10 2013) have partnered to provide an unprecedented opportunity for art educators. Teachers of students who received recognition in the 2015 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were invited to submit painted art-pieces for a chance to participate in a weeklong artist residency through the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation.

We know that the arts are integral to the innovative thinking needed in the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and math), which is why Americans for the Arts is partnering with Congressional leaders, the private sector, educators, and researchers to make visible the amazing work happening around the country in STEAM education. In October, Americans for the Arts and The Conference Board collaborated on two events focused on how the arts can advance business and community goals. On October 6, Bob Lynch hosted forty corporate leaders from the Corporate Contributions Council I at his home in Washington, D.C. for a dinner and discussion on arts education policy. We shared with them recent work in arts education including the new National Core Arts Standards.
