Americans for the Arts announces the launch of four Forums designed for arts and culture professionals to dive deep into topics relevant to local work. The Forum programs are a professional development opportunity that includes peer exchange, leadership skill development, and artmaking. It is also an opportunity for attendees to share work, successes and challenges, and make new connections with potential collaborators.

Bringing together leaders from around the country who are steeped in their local ecosystem and community, the Forum programs are an opportunity to explore and examine relevant topics that advance local practice, share knowledge, provide an opportunity to break from your routine, and find community.

This year, there are four separate Forums designed for unique participants:
  • Arts Leaders Forum is designed for arts leaders who are manager level and above, working in the arts and culture field, and looking for intellectually demanding, creative, and open-ended learning.
  • Leaders of Color Forum is for leaders of color who are manager level and above, working in the arts and culture field, and looking for intellectually demanding, creative, and open-ended learning.
  • Executive Leaders Forum is for executive and senior arts agency leaders looking for intellectually demanding, creative, and open-ended learning. These individuals hold positions that lead strategy for the organization and steward key relationships in the community.
  • NEW! Public Art Leadership Forum is designed for arts and culture leaders who are manager level and above, working in the public art field, and looking for intellectually demanding, creative and open-ended learning.
Space in the Forums is limited. Due to the level of interest in previous programs, a submission process has been implemented to ensure access. The deadline to apply for the 2020 Forums programs is April 24, 2020. Contact Ruby Lopez Harper with questions at [email protected].
