The Los Angeles Youth Orchestra will be included in the half-time show of this year’s Super Bowl.  Music Director, Gustavo Dudamel of the Los Angeles Philharmonic will conduct a group of students from this El Sistema inspired program.

Through Gustavo Dudamel's Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA) program - inspired by Venezuela's revolutionary El Sistema - the LA Phil and its community partners provide free instruments, intensive music training, and academic support to students from underserved neighborhoods, empowering them to become vital citizens, leaders, and agents of change

Dudamel is well known for his work with the philharmonic, as well as his recent success in orchestrating the opening and closing music of the latest Star Wars film. He is a native of Venezuela where he often conducted orchestras on national television to audiences of over 30 million viewers.

The half-time show is set to include music artists like Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars to celebrate the anniversary of the 50th Super Bowl.
