Muskogee, Ok - population 38,863 - is working to create an expanded entertainment and cultural district. The District is spearheaded by the Action in Muskogee Initiative and will be managed by Downtown Muskogee, Inc., which also administers the Main Streets program for the City of Muskogee.

The first phase of the project is to improve the streetscape along Main Street by working with local businesses to discuss naming, themes, and other ideas. The District will also include a signature arts venue: The Muskogee Little Theatre. The new theatre will have two stages, an auditorium, a scene shop, classrooms, and a blackbox theater.  Muskogee Little Theatre Executive director, Coni Wetz, is excited about the new venue: “It’ll be a great venue to host regional touring groups to rent for special events.”
