Biography

Bill has served the Metro Denver community for 20+ years as a successful entrepreneur, two-term Lakewood planning commissioner, author, community organizer, and frequent speaker on entrepreneurship and community engagement. As the Chief Executive of the Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District and Board Chair of 40 West Arts District, his goal is to champion the transformation of the historic West Colfax corridor into one of the best places to live, work, and play in the metro area. Earlier in his career, Bill built and sold several businesses in the technology and publishing sectors. He also co-founded The Creativity Lab of Colorado, a nonprofit serving the public sector and creative districts with strategies for growth and sustainability. In addition to the Michael Newton Award from Americans for the Arts, Bill received the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts John Madden Leadership Award in 2015, The West Chamber’s Steve Burkholder Diamond Legacy Award in 2018, and 40 West Arts District was awarded the INSPIRE Impact Award in 2017 by the Urban Land Institute. He currently serves as a housing authority commissioner and sits on the boards of a number of early-stage companies.
