You can meet and network by attending an Americans for the Arts event or a local Emerging Leader event. You can read about their work on ARTSblog and on our Connect hub page.
You should start by reading this: Starting a Local Emerging Leaders Network
There may be some local groups you can join! View our list of Local Emerging Leaders Networks.
The Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) is the best resource for you. The directory offered on their website is not an endorsement of any particular program, but rather a jumping off point for you to begin your search for the right program!
Americans for the Arts works to identify and cultivate the next generation of arts leaders in America through professional development and peer networking opportunities on the national and local levels.
First, connect with people already in the field (network)!
Second, learn as much as you can about the field’s career options and issues (study).
And, third, get involved locally or nationally (volunteer & intern).
This class will discuss leadership theory and the unique challenges and opportunities for arts leaders. You will explore leadership practice and development principles to strengthen your leadership capacity and advance your career, staff, organization, and/or community.
