Biography

Beauchamp Carr is executive vice president of the Robert W. Woodruff Arts Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization representing five of Atlanta's leading arts institutions in residence at the Center. Carr has been with the Woodruff Arts Center since 1977, and he currently is the executive in charge of development. He is a strong supporter of the arts and has been described as a "walking archive" of the city's arts community. For 12 years he was the president of Atlanta Landmarks, a nonprofit organization that owns and operates the historic 4,500-seat Fox Theater, and continues to serve as a trustee and executive committee member. Carr is also a member of both the Funding Task Force of the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts and Culture Coalition and Americans for the Arts United Arts Funds Council. He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill after serving for three years in the United States Army.
