With 2013 ending, we at Americans for the Arts find ourselves grateful for so many great arts achievements this year. There are so many partners doing amazing work in towns, cities, and states across the country--and in reflecting on this work, we wanted to especially thank the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and its staff for serving as the national lynchpin for the whole US arts field.

Americans for the Arts, in conjunction with the Congressional Arts Caucus and 86 national co-sponsors, celebrates Arts Advocacy Day 2010 today. More than 500 arts advocates from across the country are meeting with their representatives on Capitol Hill, calling on Congress to support arts-friendly legislation and policies. A highlight of the day is a congressional hearing entitled “Arts Build Communities” hosted by Rep. James P. Moran (D-VA), Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on the Interior. Advocacy has been at the core of Americans for the Arts’ history and is one of the many milestones being celebrated during the organization’s 50th anniversary year. Arts Advocacy Day 2010 brings together a broad cross section of America’s cultural and civic organizations, along with hundreds of grassroots arts activists.

There are only two weeks left to vote for a community to win a $15,000 innOVATION Grant from Americans for the Arts and Ovation!

Having already awarded a total of $85,000 to organizations in Tacoma, WA; Fort Collins, CO; Lanesboro, MA; Bethlehem, PA; and Washington, DC earlier this year, there are 58 organizations vying for the $15,000 Viewer's Choice Award on Facebook.

Central PA Arts Coalition will hold its first meeting of arts nonprofit leaders from organizations stretching from Lancaster to York to Harrisburg, and beyond, to work together in coalition to strengthen the arts in Central PA.
Part of the meeting agenda will include a World Cafe style discussion of Creative Conversation, as part of the National Arts and Humanities Month focus through Americans for the Arts. 
RSVP is required.

In addition to our free monthly Drop In Art projects for children ages 5 and up, Perry County Council of the Arts (PCCA) will hold an opportunity to share their ideas about what art should represent, do, look like, and be.
This event will be held until noon PM front of the PCCA Gallery of PCCA, rain or shine, as part of the community's annual Canal Day event.

On first glance, my drawings are clearly narrative. What is often and easily missed is the very specific platform on which all of them are made. The drawings originate on vintage ‘doodle pad’ sheets from 20th century.

Mark Price’s silkscreen printed collage exhibition ROI, Real-time Or Instead features new and recent silkscreen printed collage works from artist Mark Price.
Engaged with the silkscreen printing collage processes over the past ten years Price utilizes a self produced archive of printed imagery including optical patterns, found graphics, and gradient color fields that collage into rich and frenetic two dimensional compositions.

Celebrate NAtional Arts Education Week and the A+ Art Exhibition artists at a reception on September 13 from4:00-6:00 p.m. in Conversation Hall, City Hall Room 201.

The International Sculpture Center (ISC) is seeking panel proposals for the 28th International Sculpture Conference in Philadelphia, PA.
