Drawing from a wealth of personal experiences, cultural and societal issues, the artwork of Jason Myers depicts expressive figures adrift in a psychological landscapes layered with political and social undertones.

He was also a conference panelist for a session called "Let the Arts Paint the Way to a Better Future," which brought together foundation, corporate and nonprofit perspectives to talk about improving communities through the arts.

While the Open Mic is open to all, veteran’s issues and experiences take center stage in this unique community event. First time on the mic? Seasoned poet, musician or storyteller? Just want to listen? No problem! Your level of involvement is what you want it to be, no pressure.

The Veterans Council of St. Johns County, Inc. will be hosting a free veterans event on Sunday, November 8th, 1 pm at Anastasia Baptist Church, 1659 A1A S., St. Augustine.

"Telling: Tampa Bay" is produced in partnership with The Telling Project with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Bob Woodruff Foundation, the Saunders Foundation, Bright House Networks, and the Barbara Ann Cole Fund within the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay.

Pensacola-area men and women will take the stage in a free showing of “Telling: Pensacola,” part of a nationwide project in which military veterans relate their service experiences to a community audience. The six veterans will tell their personal stories of how and why they served, the injuries and challenges they’ve had to overcome, and how they are transitioning back into civilian life. After the performance, audience members are invited to ask questions and participate in a moderated discussion.

Join us for a powerful and moving performance featuring Pensacola area veterans telling their own stories of life in the military.

Telling: Pensacola is a partnership of The Telling Project and the Florida Humanities Council with support from the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Telling Project has put veterans and military family members on stage in fifteen states, raising awareness of military experiences on a person-to-person level since 2008.

To celebrate National Arts and Humanities Month, Girls’ Club Collection hosts the 6th annual Art Fallout, a day for contemporary art in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Connecting the area’s contemporary art venues, Art Fallout invites the community to engage and interact with the growing hub of artistic activty including galleries, artist studios, alternative exhibition spaces, and contemporary art venues for an explosive evening of interactive exhibitions, special presentations, outdoor projections and open studios.
Free shuttle buses will circulate the Art Fallout radius.

The Art & History Museums – Maitland (A&H) makes March 2015 a month of collaboration and experimentation unlike anything else in Florida, as it presents Art31: Sanctuary. From March 1 – 31, the A&H campus will focus on the Research Studio’s legacy of experimentation and collaboration and the A&H’s commitment to engaging guests as observers and as participants.

Cirque du Soleil, Orlando Ballet, Central Florida Community Arts Orchestra, Orlando City Soccer Club, Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra, a 1000 student marching band, the DowntownArts District, and dozens of other artists and performers bring the streets of Downtown Orlando to life on October 17, 2015.

The School of Art + Art History throws open its doors to members of the UF and Gainesville communities at ARTBASH 2014, offering them the chance to view a dazzling variety of projects by UF art students.
