The Park Avenue Chamber Symphony Orchestra (PACS) will honor veterans of the United States Armed Forces with a large-scale gala concert at Carnegie Hall on November 19, 8pm. The performance will feature the New York premiere of Dreams of the Fallen - the much-admired new work by award-winning composer Jake Runestad and the poet and United States Army veteran Brian Turner.

Voices from the Long War is the first time that US Military veterans share the stage with Iraqi and Afghan refugees in a stage show written by Telling Project founder Jonathan Wei, tracing how both Veterans and refugees strive to return home – or build a new one – in an America that is removed from the war. 

Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM) is pleased to present a free concert entitled, Music for the Movies featuring BSM faculty members pianist Marc Peloquin and violinist Naho Tsutsui Parrini on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the David Greer Recital Hall at the school's home site located at 323 West 108th Street (off of Broadway) in Manhattan. Admission is FREE and seating is limited. 
 

The Artist as Citizen Conference is inspired by a book by the same name written by President Joseph Polisi of The Juilliard School in which he states, "there should be no dividing line between artistic excellence and social consciousness".

Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM) will hold their annual Instrument Discovery Day on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this free open-house event, children and their families have the opportunity to hear, hold, and play over 14 different instruments with the guidance of BSM faculty and staff. New at this year’s event will be early childhood demonstrations, as well as performances of voice, guitar, and piano by the Bloomingdale faculty. The school’s staff will also be on hand to answer any questions about BSM’s course offerings.
